Seaman Injured In Altercation On Ship
NEW PLYMOUTH, Nov. (.PA.). —A deep lace'ralidn to the face was suffered by an English able seaman, John Mitchison, of Newcastle-on-Tyne, in an altercation aboard the steamship Le ven pool at Motorua Wharf, New Plymouth, tonight. Mitchison’s wound required stitchi'ng, and he was taken to the New Plymouth Public Hospital from which he was later discharged Anthony Abela, A Maltese donkey-greaser, was arrested by the police, and will appear before the Court tomorrow charged with assault.
Ambulance Cases. During October the Wanganui Hospital Board’s ambulance service attended 257 cases, of which 18 were acc'dent cases and 239 were medical and surgical, reported the transport officer, Mr. W. B. McNaught. at the board’s mce'.ing yesterday. The total number of trips was 233, and the ambulance vms travelled 3589 miles. The Wanganui city area contributed 199 cases and the rest, came from country districts. Marlon, with light cates, having the highest individual number of cases for outside areas.
