Sketch Plans For New Marton Hospital Approved By Board
A preliminary sketch plan of the proposed Marton Hospital was prepared by the architect, Mr C. N. Hood, and discussed by the chairman of the Works Committee, Mr R. G. Taiboys, and executive officers, an agreement being reached on the principle, reported the secretary, Mr K. Harris, at the monthly meeting of the Wanganui Hospital Board yesterday. In order to expedite the matter, it was also agreed that this sketch plan be submitted to the Department of Health for preliminary approval. As a result, Mr Hood, the medical superintendent (Dr. H. L. Widdowson) and the secretary visited Wellington on November 8. The departmental officers were most co-operative and a sketch plan of the proposed Marton Hospital, which had been approved of verbally bv these officers, was now being submitted Jo the board. Subsequently, the board approved of the sketch plans as submitted, and decided to go ahead with the working plans as soon as possible. MARTON BOWLING TEAMS. Whale, S. Hunt, Sanders, McDonald; Wysocki, Oliver, Currie, Morns.
