Farmers Interested In Noxious Weeds Talks By Inspector

MARTON, Last Night (SR)—A leelure and demonstration held in Whangaehu recently had been followed by numerous requests from farmers interested for a similar gathering in the Marton district, reported the noxious weeds inspector, Mr J. Robinson, at the monthly meeting today of the Rangitikei County Council. Mr Robinson also stated that in conjunction with the Whangaehu branch of Federated Farmers, a lecture on spraying equipment was held last month in the Whangaehu School. This was followed by a demonstration of weed spraying. Low volume nozzles and a boom attached to a tractor were used, and an inspection was made ot Iwo paddocks in which variegated thistles were sprayed three weeks previously. The lectures and demonstrations were attended by farmers and termin- . ated with the screening of films on weed control in New Zealand and i America. *
