MARTON WOMEN GOLFERS REGISTER BIG WIN OVER FEILDING TEAM

Marton women golfers experienced an easy win over Feilding in an interclub match played at Marton this week. The home team won on the aggregate by 22 games to four, five being halved. Marton won the singles by 14 games to three (four halved), and the fourball by eight games to one (one halved). The following were the single results, Marton players mentioned first: —Mrs Fullerton-Smith won from Mrs Farquharson, Mrs Morrison halved with Mrs Shepherd, Mrs W. T. Congratulations are extended to the two nursing cadet teams which entered for the district cadet competitions at Wanganui during last week-end. The Marton nursing cadet B team was third, and Marton nursing cadets A team fourth. As the highest marks gained were 92, and the lowest 88, it will be seen from these figures that the teams were very closely marked. The Marton teams were trained by their Lady Cadet Superintendent and both teams were entirely new ones since last year. The teams were as follows:—A team: M. Robertson (leader), J. Laurenson, M. Parlane, L. McDonald. B team: M. Jones (leader), B. Daynes, J. Parlane, M. Watson. Emergency, M. Davies.
