First Challenge Match For Hurn Bowling Cup To Be Played Today
Bowling clubs are in bright and early this season with challenges for the Hurn Cup at present held by Gonville. The first challenge is to be played today on the Gonville green at four o’clock. The defending four are C. Stewart, J. Healey, P. J. Mailman and D. J. Armstrong (skip). The challenging club, Returned Services, will be represented by J. Howes, F. A. Beattie, H. Kinsett and J. Johnson. Three other challenging clubs, Waverley, Feilding and Waitotara, are lying in wait ready to play whoever wins today.
