English Croquet Team

A team of six prominent English croquet players will arrive in Wellington on November 5, and will play a series of games in the Dominion during November, December, and January. The players are Mr. Hicks, of Devonshire, described as a brilliant player; Mr. Ward-Petley, who has been in South Africa before coming on the New Zealand tour; Mr. Hamil-ton-Miller (London); Mr. Jack Soloman, an 18 years old player with a great reputation; Mrs. Kingston (Parkston, Devonshire); and Mrs. Ozanne (Kensington). The team, soon after arrival, will go to Auckland, where it will play a test match. It will then return to Wellington to play a test match on December 11, and a third test will be played at Dunedin on January 4. The six visitors will then go to Christchurch to play as individuals in the New Zealand chapipionship croquet tournament beginning on January 17.
