HUGE CONTRIBUTIONS BY U.S. TO AID OTHER COUNTRIES SINCE WAR
WASHINGTON, Oct. 22 (Recd. 6.25 p.m.)—The United States has poured 42,591,000,000 dollars into economic and military aid for other countries since the end of the second world war. This represents about 283 dollars for every American man, woman and child.
The figure was disclosed today by the Congressional Expenditures Committee. It covers 28 foreign aid programmes, but not several others which President Truman has in preparation.
