Guerrillas Become A Menace

Nearly 1000 Communist guerrillas poured down from the hills to raid villages about 40 miles north of the 3Sth parallel, 30 miles from the east coast, according to reports from South Korean police.

These Communists, who took to the hills during the swift South Korean advance along the east coast road to Hamhung, have become bolder in the past week. They now hold YangYang, directly astride the main supply route to the north, and a force of 20*00 cut through to the coast 30 miles south of Wonsan. Unless wiped out soon they will be a serious threat to the rear of Ihe South Korean 3rd and Capitol Divisions.
