PARLIAMENT BLDGS., Last Night (PA) —Opposition members in the House of Representatives, including the former Minister of Works (Mr. Semple) said that they were not opposed to transit housing providing those vzho went into them were in them temporarily, The Minister of Works (Mr. Goosman. replying to a number of points raised during discussion on the Estimates, said that it was not the intention of the Government to make a profit out of any sections sold. He reiterated that the Government did not want the tenants of temporary houses to stay in them any longer than possible. Mr. Semple. The one fear of the people is that if they go into them they will be left there. Mr. Goosman: The one fear I have is that if we make them too good they will squat there. Mr. Goosman gave an assurance that transit houses would be treated as such. The sooner people moved from them, either to their own homes or to State houses, the better. Many now living in desperate circumstances would prefer transit houses at any rental to their present accommodation.
