FIRST WIN FOR M.C.C. ON PRESENT TOUR, AN INNINGS AND 149 RUNS
PERTH, Oct 17 (Recd 12.40 am).— The English cricketers today concluded a two-day match with West Australian colts. The M.C.C. won by an intingj and 149 runs. Gilbert Parkhouse pulled a muscle in his left leg while batting in the morning and retired at 79. The injury is not serious and he is expected to play again in a few days. He made his runs in 79 minutes and hit nine fours. Highlight of the day was the brilliant batting of Denis Compton, who added 50 to his overnight score in 48 minutes before throwing his hand away.
