Waverley To See Softball Games

The Wanganui Softball Association will be sending two women’s and two men’s teams to Waverley on Saturday to play exhibition matches on the Recreation Ground. Interest in the game at Waverley has been aroused mainly by Mr C. Brunker, of the Internal Affairs Department, who has already conducted several coaching sessions amongst interested girls, and the Wanganui Association hopes to add Waverley to the list of new teams this season. An explanation of the games will he given over a public address system as play progresses. Some of Wanganui’s leading players will be seen in action as the teams travelling through will contain quite a number of last year’s representative team. The women’s game will commence at 1.45 p.m. with the men’s game to follow at approximately 3 p.m.
