THE WANGANUI-RANGITIKEI ELECTRIC-POWER BOARD. SPECIAL ORDER RAISING LOAN. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that at the next meeting of the WanganuiRangitikei Electric-power Board, to be held on November 20, 1950, the Board will be asked to confirm a resolution passed on October 16, 1950 to make a Special Order authorising the Board to raise a loan for the extension ot the electrical reticulation in the Board’s district. The amount of the loan will be £lOO,OOO, repayable over a period of twenty-five years, and bearing interest at 34 per centum per annum. The security for the loan will -e an an-nually-recuring special rate of oneseventeenth part of one penny (l/17th of a penny )in the £ on the whole of the rateable property in the Board’s district. It is not anticipated that any of this rate will be collected, as the ordinary income of the Board is expected to be sufficient to meet all charges in respect of the loan. The loan is to be raised in pursuance of the power vested in the Board by Section 15 of the Finance Act (No. 2) 1936 without taking a poll of ratepayers unless a poll is demanded by notice in writing signed by not less than five per centum (5%) of the ratepayers. Any such notice shall reach the Secretary of the Board before the date of the confirming resolution (November 20, 1950). A copy of (he proposed Special Order may be inspected at the Board’s Offices, at Wanganui and Marton, or at the office of any of the local bodies which constitute the Wanganui-Ran-gitikei Electric-power District.
