MARSHAL OF RED ARMY AS DICTATOR IN CZECHOSLOVAKIA
LONDON, Oct. 6. According to secret information which has reached the Western Allies in Germany in the past few hours, Stalin will shortly send a Red Army marshal to Prague as Soviet dictator of Czechoslovakia, says the “Daily Express” corespondent in Munich
The Red marshal will be appointed as Czech chief-of-staff or commander-in-chief. a similar post is held by Marshal Rokossovsky in Poland. Marshal Koniev, conquerer of southern Germany, or Marshal Malinovsky, last reported as Soviet military adviser in Manchuria, are the most likely to become the Czech ruler. Over 100 senior Soviet staff officers —on the establishment of the Russian military attaches in Prague—are now planning new military headquarters. High Czech officials claim that their army staff is now in fact commanded by a four-star Red general who arrived recently in civilian clothes.
