President Rhee Opposes Plan For General Elections
SEOUL, Oct. 7 (Recd. 9 pm).— President Rhee opposes the United Nations plan for nationwide elections in Korea after the war ends. He said in an interview yesterday that there should be elections in the liberated areas of North Korea to fill seats in the South Korean National Assembly left vacant for representatives from the north, but there was no need for a general election. His Government was the only legally constituted body in Korea. —United Press.
