DELTA WINS RANDWICK PLATE ON CONCLUDING DAY OF A.J.C. MEETING
SYDNEi, Oct. 8 (Recd. B.4(Jpm). Delta won the Randwick Plate on the final day of the A.J.C. spring meeting ai Randwick yesterday. He beat Sir Falcon by three-quarters of a length, with Tracian Lad two and a-half lengths away, third The three placegetters started equal favourites. Sir Falcon made most of the running but Delta had the race in his keeping at the Leger. The New Zealand horse Brutus, who started in the Clibborn Handicap, was never prominent and finished seventh. The well-fancied New Zealander Kosher finished last in the Waverley Handicap, which was won by Darke Marne. Results:— Canon bury Stakes, £lOOO added; five furlongs.—Fengari 8.5 (Moore) 1, Channel Patrol 8.5 (Smith) 2, Osborne 8.6 (Munro) 3. Seventeen started, four lengths; three lengths. Time, 611 sec. VVidden Stakes, £lOOO added; five furlongs. - White Lightning 8.5 (Smith) 1), Urn a 8.5 (Sellwood) 2, Taressa 8.5 (McDonald) 3. Eighteen started. Head; one and a-half lengths.
