WAVERLEY NOTES

Modern Floral Art WAVERLEY, Last Night (OCR Mrs G. M. Lankshear, of New Plymouth, has been visiting Waverley on Tuesday and Wednesday giving lectures to classes, under the Adult Education Scheme, on modern floral art. Mrs Lankshear is well known as an authority on this comparatively new style of floral decoration. The classes have been popular and much useful knowledge has been derived from them. Mrs Lankshear spoke of harmony as one of the intangible principles that is necessary to good floral composition. The unusual and interesting material is used to give inspiration. It is for us to use it harmoniously, carefully planning its use in relation to tlv' surroundings and container. thereby producing an arrangement full of originality and dramatic effect. Future flower shows will feature largely along those modern lines, as floral decoration, like most otb n r things, has to follow the trend of the prosper age. I)3Hers’ Dinner.
