OTAGO NOMINEE FOR RHODES’ SCHOLARSHIP
DUNEDIN, Last Night (PA‘._The sole Rhodes scholarship nominee from the University of Otago this year is C. I. Patterson. He was born in 1929, and educated at Reefton and St. Andrew’s College, Christchurch. He has been studying law at the Otago University and expects to complete his Ll.B. degree this yeat. He is an outstanding debater and has represented the university in the Joynt Scroll debates every year since 1946. He led the Otago University de, bating team against the Australians last year. This year he competed in the inter-college law moot which was conducted as a case on appeal to the Court of Appeal. He acted as senior counsel In this contest, which was won by Otago.
