AUSTRALIA BEATS N.Z. IN TEAMS SHOOTING CONTEST
SYDNEY, Oct. 6 (Recd. 10pm).— The Commonwealth teams match was fired today in difficult, weather conditions at the Anzac rifle range. Steady rain during the morning had many marksmen in trouble. Ten shots were fired under coached conditions over 300, 600. 700 and 900yds. Out of the possible of the teams’ score of 2000, Australia made 1835 to better© New Zealand's total of 1801. Tn the inter-State scores, Victoria were winners with 1851, followed by New South Walese 1847 and Queensland 1843. The New Zealand team’s scores were: F. Jeune 187, J. Johnson 185, J. Keoghan 184, R. McVicar 182, A. Paynter 181, F. Soler 181, L. Hutchison 178, R. Tantrum 178, T. Prichard 174. I. Macdonald 171. The New South Wales individual championships commence next Monday.
