The Donovan Cup, which is awarded aui'.aily by the New Zealand Women Writers and Artists’ Society in their poetry contest, has been won this year by Miss Nancy Bruce, of Wanganui, for her poem ‘•Kinship.” Tn announcing the awards today, the judge, Mr. A. R. Dunlop, of Invercargill. said that of the 20-odd entries the first five were of an excellent standard and contained some remarkably fin' 1 work. The judge awarded second and third place to Mrs D. Le Roi, of Christ - church, for ‘Spring Fog’’ and ‘‘Gia.".;'' while two poems highly commended wore ‘‘Moon Memories,” by Mrs (.; Hawkens, of Tauranga, and ‘Lideen. ' by Mrs L. Mantell, of Pet one.
