RECORD PRICES AT WANGANUI SKIN AND HIDE SALE

Record prices were obtained at the skin and hide sale held

at Wanganui on Tuesday. “A comprehensive catalogue of all grades of dry sheepskins was submitted to a full bench of buyers, representing exporters, tanners, and fellmongers,” reports Levin and Company, Ltd., who conducted the sale. DRY SHEEPSKINS. “There was a good demand and prices realised showed a considerable rise on the high prices paid at the sale held last month. Three-quarter and full-wools advanced T2d to 14d, half-wools lid to 13d, quarter-wools 7d to lOd; pelts and shearlings 4d to 7d. “Following is the range of prices:

SALTED SHEEPSKINS. A good selection was offered and realisations showed a corresponding

increase compared with the dry skins. Top price paid was 63s 6d for a particularly good line of heavy woolled full-wool skins. Full-wools, 42s 3d to 63s 6d; three-quarters wools 37s to 44s sd; half-wools 25s to 35s 8d; quarter-wools, 14s to 25s Id. HIDES. “The offeriig consisted only of hides I removed from animals slaughtered prior to August 31. Consequently the total offering was smaller than usual. The prices realised were slightly in ' advance of those ruling at the last ' sale. Following is the range of prices:— d. d.
