Good Run-Bred Yearlings Make Keen Sale At Wanganui
Good well-done and well-bred yearling Polled Angus steers and heifers made very keen sales under strong competition at yesterday’s Wanganui sale. The two and three-year-old cattle offered were for the most part, small for their age and had been rather hard done. They did not solicit the same competition as the well done yearlings. Practically a total clearance was made in this class of cattle. There was little enquiry for yearling Jersey heifers. Dairy cows and springing close to profit were at late rates, but late calvers were hard of sale. Fat sheep were fully firm. Store pigs and porkers were at late rates, but weaners were down on last week. Prices were:— Fat sheep: Fat woolly wethers, 72s to 90s; prime hoggets, 56s to S7s; light
