Castlecliff-Gonville Townswomen’s Guild
There was a good attendance at the monthly meeting of the CastlcelifL Gonvillo Townswomen’s Guild, held last, week, when Mrs. AL C. Norman presided. Two new members were welcomed. Remits to be discussed at the annual council meeting to be held in Christchurch this month, were gone through and the delegates instructed. Roll call was “My earliest childhood memory.” Memories included comedy and tragedy. Competitions wore judged by Airs. Tipper and resulted: Best bloom, Mrs. Hampton 1. Mrs. Gilliver 2; something new from something old, Mrs. A. Anthony’s rug 1, Mrs. Davis’ child’s blouse 2. Mrs. Tipper sang a bracket of songs and Mrs. Simmons gave a dcmonslration of felt toy making. She had with her a collection of toys which were much admired. The bring-and-buy si all was in charge of Airs. Giiliver and Mrs. R. Cato was in charge of the “mystery” parcel, which was won by Mrs. L. Denman. Mesdames A. Anthony, Andrews and Shipton were hostesses al afternoon tea.
