"WAIT AND SEE.” SAYS MR. ATKINSON ON COAL SITUATION

No information concerning how long the coal supplies at the gas works would last was available yesterday. The manager of the works, Mr. J. VV. Atkinson, told the “Chronicle" that he could make no estimate of the present supplies. “We will have to wait and see the result of the discussions at present being held in Wellington between the Government, and the waterside workers’ representatives before we know how long the coal will last,” he said.
