WANGANUI-RANGITIKEI ELECTRIC-POWER BOARD ELECTRICITY SAVING The electricity shortage which became real y serious on 2nd April last s still with us, and the Board's usual ration is still subject to a special reduction of 10 per cent. In recent weeks the units used have been in excess of the approved quantity and while many consumers have made very real savings further savings are urgently necessary. All consumers are therefore notified of the following requirements:— (1) All must take definite steps to see that their consumption is kept within quota limits. (2) Radiators must not be used where other method of heating is available. (3) All water heaters must be switched off at least twelve hours each day, between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. (Not any twelve hours but definitely between these specific times). (4) Electric heating in business premises or public buildings is forbidden before 9 a.m., or between 4 and 6 p.m. « (5) Before buying any new equipment enquire whether additional units will be available for its use. (6) Any consumer who exceeds his quota or who fails to comply with any of the restrictions set out herein may have his supply disconnected, either completely or in part, without any further notice. G. A. AMMUNDSEN, 6th September, 1950. Secretary.
