WANGANUI RUGBY TEAM LEFT YESTERDAY ON EAST COAST TOUR

Wanganui’s 1950 Rugby tourists, 19 players, accompanied by a manager and a coach, left the city last night for a short match-playing tour of the East Coast. Leaving Wanganui about 5.30 p.m. by bus, the team intended spending the night at Napier before continuing its trip to Gisborne, where it plays Poverty Bay tomorrow. The team’s second and last match on the East Coast will be against Hawke's Bay, at Napier, next Wednesday. The team will return to Wanganui the next day.
