LONDON, A4ig ; 30 (Recd. 6 pm). — Though no official reaso n is give n for ihi sudden recall to Washington of the United States Ambassador in London, Mr. Lewis Douglas, it is believed that it is connected with the forthcoming visit to the United States of the British Foreign Secretary, Mr. Ernest Bevin, and the French Foreign Minister, Mr. Schuman. Diplomatic circles here believe the United States Secietary of State, Mr Dean Acheson, desires to have the benefit of Mr. Douglas’ advice during his discussions with Mr. Bevfti and Mr. Schuman.—Special N.Z.P.A.
