TEN ATLANTIC PACT NATIONS AGREE ON SEA LANE DEFENCES
Washington, Aug. 17 (Reed. 6 p.tn.)—Leading naval officers of the 10 North Atlantic Paet nations have reached “complete agreement” on the protection of the sea lanes and coastal defence against a possible aggressor, said Admiral William Fcehteler, of the United States Navy, today. Admiral Fcehteler made the announcement after a two-day secret meeting of officers in the ocean regional planning group of North Atlantic Pact nations. He said the group, which was a subsidiary of the Chief-of-Staff Committee, will meet frequently in future—reflecting the increased tempo of military preparations brought about by the Korean war.
