PERSONALS.

The death occurred on Thursday of Mrs. Muriel Elizabeth (“Patty”) Smith, wife of Mr. Vivian Smith, of Taihape. Mrs. Smith was a wellknown and highly respected citizen, who for many years resided at Taoroa before coming to Taihape to live. She had suffered ill health for some considerable time. She is survived by her husband and daughter, Mrs. Tony Abraham. A son, Mr. Stronach Smith, lost his life while serving in the AitForce during the war.

The town clerk, Mr. W. Hudson, commenced his annual holidays this week and intends visiting the South Island. During his absence Miss Wisker is acting as town clerk.

Mrs. Isobel Bankart, of Rangiwaea, died this week at the age of 80 years. A resident of the Taih:v district for the past 32 years, the late Mrs. Bankart was held in the highest esteem.
