HARRY GOLD PLEADS GUILTY TO ATOMIC SPYING FOR RUSSIA
NEW YORK, July 20 (Recd 7.30 pm).—Harry Gold pleaded guilty today to atomic spying for Russia. He was charged at Philadelphia with giving information to a potential enemy. Gold, a 39-year-old biochemist, admitted that he was a courier for Dr. Klaus Fuchs, the scientist gaoled In Britain for atomic spying. The Judge announced that he would not be sentenced until investigation by the Federal Probation Bureau had been completed. This may take about six weeks.
