PUBLIC NOTICES TRANSPORT ACT, 1949. THE Transport Charges Committee having considered the application of the Commissioner of Transport affecting, (a) All passenger service operators throughout the Dominion licensed to run route passenger services which reads:— “That existing Schedule rates be made minimum charges and that existing Schedule charges plus such amount as the Committee deems necessary to offset increases in wages and salaries as a result of the recent order issued by the Arbitration Court become the maximum legal charges.” has fixed maximum and minimum charges, thus authorising passenger operators to increase certain fares if they desire to do so. (b) All those goods service operators in the Dominion operating under approved cartage rates schedules which reads—- " That existing schedule rates be made minimum charges and that existing schedule charges plus such amount as the Committee deems necessary to offset increases in wages and salaries as a result of the recent order issued by the Arbitration Court become the maximum legal charges," has decided to make an interim order in following terms: — Cartage charges in force at date of this order shall be minimum charges and maximum charges shall be the aforesad minimum charges plus 21 per cent. This decision shall apply to both rural operators and town carriers. The full text of Committee's decision may lie inspected at offices of Transport Dept, throughout the Dominion. For purpose of appeal these decisions are dated July 21, 1950, and therefore any appeal must be forwarded to Commissioner of Transport, P.O. Box 107, Te Aro, Wellington, C2, within twenty-one days after that date. i.e. before August 13, 1950, on which date, if no appeal is lodged, these decisions become effective. NGAITAHU TRUST BOARD. For the purpose of selecting a candidate to be recommended as Representative of Ngaitahu District a Postal Ballot will be taken. For voting purposes, Beneficiaries are deemed to be persons beneficially Interested in the Ngaitahu Trust Fund who have attained the age of 21 years on the 31st day of May, 1950. No special form of voting paper is required but Beneficiaries may exercise their votes by writing to the RETURNING OFFICER so as to reach him on or before the 31st day of July, 1S50: Stating: (a) The candidate for whom they wish to vote as a Representative of Ngaitahu. (b) The permanent address of the Beneficiary exercising the vote. (c) If possible the Beneficiary's number on the Ngaitahu Claim list, passed by The Native Land Court 1925, or any Succession Order passed by The Maori Land Court, or if number cr date of Court Order is not known, or if the claim is not in the voter’s own right, the name of the person through whom the beneficial right is claimed. All voting papers shall be signed by the Beneficiary voting, and shall be forwarded by the voter to the RETURNING OFFICER, SOUTHERN MAORI DISTRICT, SUPREME COURT, BOX 80, CHRISTCHURCH, so as to reach him not later than the 31st day of July, 1950.
