N.C.W. Holds Shop Day For “Hikurangi”

Yesterday Ihe National Council of Women, of which Mrs A. 11. McLean is president, held a bring and buy day lo raise funds for the Hikurangi appeal. The stalls, which were set up in the 2nd N.Z.E.F rooms, were well laden with all kinds of saleable goods. As a result of the effort the sum of about £65 was raised, with a few small amounts to come in. The conveners, who were assisted by helpers throughout the day, were Mesdames E. W. E Carter and C. Stillborn (produce stall), Donaghy and C. B. Rowntree (sweets and cakes), iKerr and E. J. Chesswas (handwork), iJ. Brownlie and McFarlane (flowers and plants), E Campbell and P. An- ! derson (miscellaneous), J. R. Clarke I (clothing).
