Questions As To What The N.Z. Government Intends

PARLIAMENT BLDGS., July 19 (PA).—“Does the Minister support the statement of Sir Carl Berendsen, our delegate to the United Nations, in his opposition to mediation in the Korean trouble?” asked Mr M. Moohan (Opp., Petone) of the Minister of External Affairs in the House of Representatives today.

A note to the question sa ! d that Sir Carl was reported as having said over the American radio network that there should be no negotiation until the North Korean forces had retired to the 38th parallel. In another question Mr Moohan asked if the Minister supported the action of Mr Nehru, Prime Minister of India, in his attempt at mediation with Stalin to end the Korean dispute.
