They made lengthy explanations ot how they had gone here, gone there, made Inquiries at 'this place, seen tracks at some other place. Mum: Did either of you look in the school paddock? The look both gave her suggested that they doubted her sanity. The horse was lost, completely lost. Hadn’t they scon its tracks miles away? Johnny (home from school, bursting in the door): We found Neddy, daddy He was in tho school paddock all the. time, and Sis is riding him home! Mum went on Ironing, Dad went out (silently) to look at the . . . well whatever there was to look at.
