THREE POWER STUDY GROUP REVISING THE GERMAN STATUTE

LONDON, July 4 (Recd. 6 pm).*— A three-Power study group, which has been set up by Britain, the United States and France to consider revision of th e German Occupation Statute and to make recommendations for ehding the formal state of war with Germany, held its first meeting in London on Monday, Members of the Study Committee are: Sir Donald Gainer, head of the German section of the British Foreign Office, Mr. Lewis Douglas, American Ambassador in London and Mr. Rene Massigli, French Ambassador in London.

A decision to set up the group was taken by the Foreign Ministers of the three Powers when they met in London last May. The Occupation Statute is due for revision in September and the group must have its report ready by then.— Special N.Z.P.A. Correspondent.
