TROTTING CONFERENCE TO DISCUSS PROPOSALS

CHRISTCHURCH, Last Night (PA) “I feel certain that the off-course betting scheme now proposed will have the full approval of clubs represented at the annual meeting of the New Zealand Trotting Conference in Invercargill next week’,” said the president, Mr. A. L. Matson, in Christchurch, this evening. “Clubs now have in their possession a memorandum explaining all negotiations from the outset, together with a copy of the scheme on which agreement has been reached with the Minister.” Mr. Matson said that since the Trotting Conference meeting was so close he would reserve further comment until delegates had discussed developments.
