May Be A Glut Of Sugar In Britain In Two Years’ Time

LONDON, June 12 (Recd 6 pm). The possibility of a glut of sugar in two years is mentioned by Mr. Webb, Minister of Food. Last March, Mr. Webb stated, sugar was one of his greatest worries, but that he thought he could maintain the ration. In a statement at Reading, he said: "In two years’ time we may be groaning under the burden of too much sugar.’* He expected a general improvement in world sugar supplies, and said there is a possibility of some agreement between sugar production countries on a system of control to avoid a glut which would have disastrous effects on

growers.—N.Z.P.A. Special Correspon dent.
