Mrs. Don Morice, of Gisborne, is visiting her mother, Mrs. M. K. Strouts St. Hill Street. Dr. anc Mrs. Church, of New Plymouth. are the guests of Mrs. W. Glenn, Kakatahi, for the week-end. Mrs. W. Peat, of Wellington, and formerly of Wanganui, is spending a few days in the city and is staying at Foster’s Hotel. Mrs. J. R. McLean, of New Plymouth, who was a visitor to Wanganui for the races on Saturday, is spending the week-end at Raetihi with her daughter, Mrs. A. K. Mac Lean. Dr. Elspeth Fitzgerald, of Oamaru, is visiting Wanganui and is staying with her sister, Mrs. F. F. Newman, “Arlington,” No. 1 Line. Among visitors to Wanganui for the race meeting on Saturday were Mrs. Chalmers, wife of the president of the Wellington Racing Club; Mr. and Mrs Gavin Newman. Hastings, Mr. and Mrs. Guy Cross, Mrs. Miller and Mrs. J. Miller, Palmerston North; Mr. and Mrs. Bustin, Mr and Mrs. Cheeseman, of Wellington. Mr and Mrs John Duncan, Taihape; Mrs Frank Wall, Martinborough, Mrs. J. B. Bradley, Feeding, Mrs. G. H. Perett, Sanson. The Queen will pay a four-day private visit to Northern Ireland in June. She will be the guest of her sister, Countess Granvill, who is the wife of the Governor of Northern Ireland. Countess Granville was formerly Lady Rose Constance Bowes-Lyon. She is Princess Margaret’s godmother, and gave the Princess her second name. Ihe Queen will fly to Belfast in a Viking aircraft of the King’s Flight, and will stay at Hillsborough Castle, the official residence of the Governor.
