Nine Burn To Death In Bomber

OTTAWA, June L—Nine men were burned to death when a big Neptune bomber crashed at the naval air base at Quonset, Rhode Island, today. The pilot and the co-pilot were rescued with minor injuries. The remainder of the crew were trapped in the flaming wreckage. The bomber took off for Argentina and returned 23 minutes later with one engine afire. The pilot attempted to make an emergency landing in poor visibility. The plane was caught in a cross-wind and lipped over on its back and burst Into flames.
