A suggestion from the Wainul-a-Rua Sub-Union that the visiting British Rugby team be entertained at Parikino during their stay in Wanganui, was made a t Tuesday night’a meeting of the Management Committee of the Wanganui Rugby Union. Making the suggestion on beha'f »f his sub-union Mr. R. Tapa said the 1930 British team was entertained at Parikino. The people up the Wanganui Rive!- would be very glad to entertain this year’s team on Tuesday, July 4, the day befgrp their match against Wanganui, he said. In 1930, said Mr. Tapa, the British team went Up to Parikino by river boat On the Sunday before the match, which w-as played on Wednesday, had their dinner there and afterwards had a training run. He asked that consideration be given by the union for the same to be done thi; rear. Mr. Tapa said he could make arrangements for the entertainment to be done by many of those people who had acted as hosts to the 1930 team It was pointed out that the entertainment committee of the union v at working on something different in entertainment of the visitors However, Mr. Tapa's suggestion will left la the hands of the comm-ttve.
