Inquiry To Be Held Into Railway Crash In Levin Station

WELLINGTON, Yesterday (P.A.) - The appointment of Judge Stilwell, of the Court of Arbitration, as a board of inquiry to report on a collision between a Palmerston North-Wellington passenger train and a WellingtonAuckland express at the Levin station on April 12, was announced today by the Minister of Railways (Mr. Goosman).

The board will be required to report on the cause of the collision, whether it. was in any way caused or contributed to by any failure in the signalling equipment- whether any railway employee failed to exercise reasonable care, and whether any steps should be taken to prevent a similar collision. The inquiry is to be completed by June 30.
