Careless Motorist Has Licence Cancelled

TAIHAPE, . Last Night (OC).— Charged with careless driving at Hunterville on February 18, Eskil George Pedersen, employed by the State Fvest Service at Perora, Wangapeehl, was convicted in the Taihape Court today and fined £3 and costs 16s and witnesses’ expenses, £lO 9s 9d. His lb cence was cancelled for six months.

According to two witnesses, defendant drove in a reckless manner and caused an accident. One car was forced off the road and another car had collided with it. Pedersen seemed te be determined to pass a truck on Mangaweka Hill at all costs and had cut corners.

The magistrate said it was one of the worst cases he had known. Defendant had driven recklessly with total disregard of the rules of the road and the obligations of motorists. His Worship complimented the two witnesses on coming forward and giving evidence as a matter of public duty.
