RUAKURA FARMERS’ CONFERENCE TO BE HELD THIS MONTH
Farmers from all parts of New Zealand are expected to attend the Ruakura Farmers' Conference Week at Hamilton from Monday, May 15, to May 19. It is known that many Wanganui district farmers are interested in the forthcoming conference, but it is not yet known exactly how many will attend. This conference is regarded as one of the main farmers’ gatherings of the year. Three days will be devoted to subjects of special interest to sheep farmers and members of Young Farmers' Clubs are invited to attend any or all sessions. Those attending will obtain a first hand account of the latest research findings and an opportunity to discuss their practical “applications at the conference.
New Zealand’s most prominent farming authorities will be the conference to give lectures. The conference will be opened by the Minister of Labour (Mr. Sullivan). Sheep fanners will be given an opportunity to inspect sheep work at Ruakura and the Ruakura hill country research station. Dairy farmers will also be able to inspect dairy work at Ruakura. A wide variety of sheep farming and dairy farming lectures will be given.
