RUSSIANS ARREST BRITISH TRAWLER

LONDON, May 4 (Rec. G pm). —The Russians have arrested the British trawler Etruria, which left Grimsby on April 19 with a crew of 20, for the White Sea fishing grounds, which are near Russian territory.

The trawler was last heard on May 1 flashing a radio 5.0.5.: “We are being boarded by a Russian crew.”

The message was picked up by other British fishing vessels- in northerly waters and relayed to Britain by a Norwegian land station.

The Etruria’s owners asked for Government help to recover their vessel, which ‘they believe has been taken into Murmansk by Russian naval patrols, probably for some alleged violation of Russian territorial waters.
