Auckland Watersiders Oppose The Australian Bill
AUCKLAND, Last Night (PA).— The following resolution was carried unanimously at a meeting of the executive of the Auckland branch of the Waterside Workers’ Union. ‘■That this executive of the Auckland branch forwards ’ its strongest protest to the Australian High Commisioner on the introduction of the Communist Party Dissolution Bill, We declare the intentions of the Bill
are not an attack on the Communist Party alone, but on democratic rights, and particularly the independence of trade unionism. Nothing can hide the fact that the Bill is straight out Fascism We thoroughly condemn it and pledge full support to any action taker, by the Australian trade union movement in its resistance to this Fascist-like legislation.”
