AUCKLAND, Last Night (PA) At the end of the first day of his visit to the Auckland waterfront, the Minister of Labour (Mr. Sullivan) had made good progress in his "fact-find-ing ’ mission to determine the causes for the 74 per cent, cargo surcharge imposed on the port by a conference of lines bringing freights from Britain the Continent, and North America. He inspected the wharves and head representations from the Auckland Harbour Board, the Cargo Control Committee and the Auckland branch ot the Port Employers’ Association. Tomorrow Mr. Sullivan will meet the executive of the Auckland branch of the Waterside Workers’ Union and members of the special users’ committee formed to assist in the clearance of the recent port congestion. A conference of combined interests may be also called. 1
