Civil Rights Lost Over Military Service; Labour Federation’s Attitude

WELLINGTON, Last Night (PA). The conference of the Federation of Labour was asked today by the Canterbury Builders’ and General Labourers’ Union to take action to have civil rights restored to those deprived of them through opposition to compulsory military service and international war.

The conference adopted a resolution declaring: “The Federation believes that a person who has been sentenced for any crime and who has suffered the penalty should suffer no further deprivation of civil rights.”
