LOCATION ALLOWANCE FOR NURSES TO BE PAID 11 MONTHS SOONER

WELLINGTON, Last Night (PA).— Location allowances for nurses in country hospitals are in future to be paid 11 months sooner than hitherto. The Minister of Health (Mr. Watts) stated this evening that the amounts of the location allowances, which were £2O a year for some hospitals and £lO a year for less-isolated ones, were not altered but they would become payable after a nurse had served in a particular hospital for one month instead of 12 months as hitherto.

In addition, another eight hospitals had been added to the list of 52 at which location allowances were payable and power was given the Minister to add other hospitals as circumstances would appear to justify.
