PIRATES RUGBY CLUB ELECTS OFFICERS FOR THE COMING SEASON

The annual meeting of the Pirates Rugby Football Club, held recently, was attended by 60 members, over whom Mr C. Stewart presided. The election of officers resulted:— Patron, Mr J. Pedley; hon. treasurer, Mr J. Deerness, jnr.; club captain, Mr H. Kench; vice club captain, Mr P. McGrath; committee, Messrs D. Ahern, ). Bryers, N. Brown; delegates to the Wanganui Rugby Union, Messrs Stewart and Kench. 10-A-SIDE RUGBY TOURNAMENT FOR WHANGAEHU AT EASTER The fourth annual 10-aside Rugby tournament will be held on the grounds of Mr L. A. Mackintosh, Whangaehu, on Easter Saturday, April 8, when the Larkins Challenge Cup will be competed for. The personnel of the winning team will receive medals. In addition, a goal- kicking competition will also be held, for which a special prize will be donated. Teams are expected from Raetihi, Taihape, Rata, Hunterville, Marton, Waverley, Kai Iwi, Turakina. Whangaehu, Feilding-, Patea, Bulls and other centres.
