A Republican statement of the principles and objectives which will form the basis of their campaign in the November Congressional elections, said the major domestic issue was "liberty against socialism.” Referring to original affairs, the statement said the party deplored the tragic consequences of the Yalta and Potsdam secret agreements. It added: "We favour a foreign policy wherein all Americans regardless of party, will join*to assure peace with Justice in a free world.”

The statement deplored “the dangerous degree to which Communists and their fellow travellers had been employed in important Government oosts and th(f fact that information vital to security had been made available to alien agents and persons of I uestionable loyalty.”
