Wanganui Women’s Bowling Club Cards And Picnic
The Wanganui Women's Bowling Club's card evening this week resulted in the following winners: Table, Mr Threadgold, Mr Rickard, Mrs Dennison; points, Mrs Kimber; mystery, Mrs Connors; floater, Miss O’Connor, Mrs Marshall and Jdiss Marshall. The annual picnic was held last Sunday at Mr A. Hunters’ property, Makirikiri Valley. There was a good attendance and the weather was fairly good. Results of races and competitions were as follow: —Married women, Mrs Thompson 1, Mrs Haggle 2. Men, Mr Dempster 1, Mr Haggie 2. Cigarette rtxe, Mr Dennison and Mrs Dempster 1, Mrs Thompson and partner 2. Young ladies’ race, Miss K. O’Connor 1, Miss Marshall 2. Children’s race, Wynne Cade 1. Boys’ race, Graham Johnstone 1, Frank Gillum 2. Shoe race, Mrs Dempster.
